The Hurricane

tropical cocktail, beach cocktail

Now that the worst of the storm has passed, it's time for a nice stiff drink before assessing the damage Hurricane Michael has left in his wake. I could think of nothing more appropriate than a bit of the "hair of the dog" itself.

The Hurricane is a classic tropical cocktail invented in New Orleans by Pat O'Brien in the 1940's. This heavy on the rum concoction is a sure fire way to kickstart any foul weather party and to keep the fun flowing until well after the storm has gone. Good thing you 're probably off tomorrow!

Recipe

  • 2 parts White Rum
  • 2 parts Dark Rum
  • 1 parts Lime Juice
  • 1 parts Orange Juice
  • 2 parts Passion Fruit Juice
  • 1/2 parts Grenadine
  • 1/2 parts Bar Syrup

Method

Add all of your ingredients into a shaker and fill with ice.

Shake and strain into a large Hurricane/Daiquiri glass over fresh ice.

          Garnish with Orange and Cherry
